Opera-Arias.com is an aria database containing information about more than 150 Opera Composers, 470 Operas, 2,800 Opera Arias, 800 Opera Duets, 570 Opera Ensembles and a total of over 7,400 Opera Scenes. The searchability of this aria database has been designed to be as easy as possible and the information as complete as possible.
You can search through opera arias, duets, ensembles, scenes, roles, operas and composers in many different ways. For instance, by works of a certain composer, in a specific language, or for a particular set of voices. You can also browse through the specific lists for all these different combinations. For example Opera duets for two sopranos. We tried to complete the aria database with as much information per scene as possible; most scene pages offer a YouTube movie, libretto and more details about the scene and the role. They also contain direct links to find CD's, DVD's, MP3's and sheet music on different external websites, like Amazon.com, IMSLP.org, Youtube.com and Sheetmusicplus.com.
Besides opera arias and other types of opera scenes, you can look for opera roles by language, voice, and/or a certain composer. Operas can be found by language and can be ordered by number of scenes or arias. In addition composers can be found by country of birth, number of operas, and also by year.
We hope you find what you were looking for in the aria database of Opera-Arias.com! If, for some reason, you did not find it, please do not hesitate to contact us. We realise that this aria database is not complete, and may occasionally even contain some inaccurate information. Please note that some classifications in opera music are always open for discussion. We will keep working on the aria database to be more accurate and complete.

About Arjen van Spronsen
Arjen lives in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and studied for opera bass singer at Tilburg Conservatory with Edward Hoepelman. He created Opera-Arias.com during his studies for a bass opera singer in his second year in 2011-2012. He missed a good source where he could find bass arias and duets. He used his technical knowledge from his previous studies at the Delft University of Technology and combined information from offline and online sources and created the first version of opera-arias.com. Although he was very proud, because users could search through over 7.000 opera scenes, he saw that no visitors could find the website, because it only had a closed search function and no specified pages, so no search engine could find any information on the website. In the next year he started to create a better findable website, and in september 2012 (thanks to the help of a nice group of contributors) the second version of opera-arias.com was launched. Since then visitors are finding the website better and better from all over the world. Visitors from over 185 countries found and used opera-arias.com as a reference in their search for information on opera, composers, arias, roles etc.
If you want to know more about the website you can always email Arjen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many thanks to all contributors for the help in this amazing project!
Have fun and hopefully your visit to the website was usefull and you will come back soon! The website will be frequently updated!
