NIXON
Like the Ming Tombs.
I think this leap forward to light is the first step
of all our youth, all nations' youth;
our duty is to show them both their future
and our past, the fire and the noon glare.
How they inspire our poor dry bones,
put us in mind of our forgotten dreams!
We send children on our crusades,
we bring children our countries, right or wrong.
Then we retire.
Fathers and sons, let us join hands,
make peace for once.
History is our mother,
we best do her honor in this way.
