The legendary master of verismo singing, Magda Olivero, sings Katiusha's scene in Franco Alfano's Risurrezione, including her aria "Dio pietoso". It's one of the most spine-chilling and heartbreaking interpretations of Olivero, with amazing dramatic effects and a most rich phrasing, besides her intense commitment and understanding of what she's singing.
The conductor is Elio Boncompagni and the correct year of the recording is actually 1973 (and 1971 as I put on the video) - what means Olivero was 63 years old when she sang this amazingly!
