Tutti partono: Bruno si ferma in disparte, vedendo Riccardo.

a se
Or dove fuggo mai? ... Dove mai celo
Gli orrendi affanni miei? Come quei canti
Mi risuonano all'alma amari pianti!
O Elvira, Elvira, o mio sospir soave,
Per sempre, per sempre, io ti perdei!
Senza speme ed amor, in questa vita
Or che rimane a me?

La patria e il cielo!

Qual voce? Che dicesti ... È vero, è vero!

Apri il tuo core intero
All'amistà, n'avrai conforto ...

È vano.
Ma pur t'appagherò. Sai che d'Elvira
Il gentior m'acconsentia la mano,
Quando al campo volai.
Ieri, alla tarda sera,
Qui giunto con mia schiera,
Pien d'amorosa idea
Vo al padre ...

Ed ei dicea?

"Sospira Elvira a Talbo cavaliero,
E sovra il cor non v'ha paterno impero."

Ti calma, amico.

English Libretto or Translation:

Everyone leaves: Bruno stops on the sidelines, seeing Riccardo.

to himself
Where do I flee? ... Where ever it cloaks
The horrendous troubles of mine? Like those songs
They resonate to me bitter tears!
O Elvira, Elvira, or my sweet sigh,
Forever, forever, I lost you!
Without spice and love, in this life
What remains to me?

The homeland and the sky!

What's the voice? What did you say ... It's true, it's true!

Open your whole core
In the amistà, you will have comfort ...

It is vain.
But I will satisfy you. You know that d'Elvira
The gentior gives me his hand,
When I flew to the field.
Yesterday, late at night,
Come here with my host,
Full of loving idea
Vo to the father ...

And did you say?

"Sigh Elvira to Talbo Cavaliero,
And over the heart there is no paternal empire. "

You calm down, friend.
