Uploader's notes: there's no fully satisfactory recordings of Méphistophélès's other two arias in French. Most of them are sung by tenors pretending to be lower voices (like Pol Plançon and Maurice Renaud) or end up doing weird things with their upper register in an attempt to be funny. Ruggero Raimondi's performances are in this second group, but they are still entertaining. If you don't mind the downwards transposition for bass, Jean Claverie's renditions are superb, and also in French. It's also worth noting that the Italian version of "Devant la maison" might play a bit too much with the vocal line for the taste of some.

As for Faust's other arias, Giovanni Malipiero has a pretty nice rendition of "Merci doux crépuscule" in Italian, but I found it by the point this video was already exporting. Might do something with it in the future.
