Ah! mes amis

Alfredo Kraus, (1927-1999) was a distinguished Spanish tenor of Austrian descent, particularly known for the artistry he brought to opera's bel canto roles. His singing technique is considered by many to be second to none. Here he sings the famous 'Ah mes amis!' from a live performance of 'La fille du regiment.' This is the Italian version, translated from French.
Of all the tenors, Alfredo Kraus is the greatest inspiration to me. The wisest tenor of the century. He never chose a role not suited for his voice, everything in his repertoire was carefully selected. A true musician, he valued the joy of making music more than fame and money.
He is remembered, and missed.
