Ugo Benelli was delivering the Tom Walsh Memorial Lecture at the Ferrycarrig Hotel on October 29th at 3.30 p.m. [ "Dr Tom Walsh Lecture - This year the celebrated Italian tenor and longtime Wexford favourite Ugo Benelli presents an informal illustrated talk entitled 'What is a Tenore di grazia?' Benelli himself, along with Nicolai Gedda and Alfredo Kraus, was for many years one of the world's top three exponents of this special tenor style. He will draw on his wealth of personal experience and use recorded extracts to demonstrate its sound, repertoire, and champions."
In questa Lecture il tenore Ugo Benelli afferma molte cose importanti, in particolare in merito alle caratteristiche di un vero Tenore di grazia, ma il principio strategico piÃ¹ importante che offre Ã¨ senz'altro questo: "The Tenore di grazia must be constantly aware of his technique (...) The secret of a long career is to study - first there's the mind and then the voice - to rest and never to push the voice (...) He is a distiller of Grazia".
