Message from JQLedesma to his Friends: One opera I used to love and sing with great passion was Andrea Chenier. Renate, my friend and collaborator, and mother of my student MAI LEEB, published this clip tonight and I wish to share it with you all. She had thought of publishing all the three arias and all the three duets, as a special entry for my pages of friends. It means that very soon she will have ready this nice present....I hope you will enjoy it since the way I sing this opera is some how a little different to other tenors. For me the fire, fuoco sacro. is a must in this type of poetical/musical singing.. Shadings and colors are basically the kind of luster found in Ms. Robledo's voice and mine. Thanks friends.
English Libretto or Translation:
CHÉNIER Like a beautiful day in May that with kiss of wind and ray caress goes off in firmament, with the kiss of a rhyme, caress of poetry, I climb the extreme top of my existence. The walking sphere for every human destiny here it is already approaching me at the time of death, and perhaps first that the last one my verse is over, the executioner will announce me the end of life. Both! Strofe, last Goddess! still give to your poet the brilliant idea, the usual flame; I, to you, while you vivid to me it flows from the heart, I will give the ice for rhyme spiro of a man who dies.
Roucher hugs Chénier.Schmidt returns, the two friends shake hands and parted moved.
.Mathieu, out, vocalizes the Marseillaise.
