Directo Peter Sellars reimagined the 1990 production of this baroque masterpiece as a modern confrontation between an American president and an Arab potentate (which works remarkably well, if you ask me). Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden was conduced by Craig Smith with Susan Larson as Cleopatra and the late Lorraine Hunt-Lieberson as Sesto.
