This was my first recording when I first started to sing in 1973. I recorded it in Carthage, Missouri with Robert Harris at the piano. This was before I had any voice lessons. I had expected to be a theologian and had earned at B.A. in theology and was working on my masters when I heard an inner voice telling me to leave seminary and make the stage my church. I left seminary and began listening to opera. One day I opened my mouth to make a sound like the guys on the records and out came this voice which I have had ever since. I won the Met Auditions and became a Santa Fe apprentice and the rest is history. So this is from 1973 and the earliest recording of my voice.
