Macerata, July 4, 1970 w/ F. Corelli
This is the performance described by Nilsson in her autobiography (p. 200ff.). Macerata was Corelli-territory (he was born in Ancona which isn't far from Macerata) - and that's why you get the most ridiculous contest/duel between those two ever recorded. It sure is exciting - but Puccini only by name.
There is a video that allegedly shows Nilsson's "In questa reggia" from this performance, but that video is a concoction of studio recordings and playback. In the beginning and the end of the presentation they used some live footage which could be from this performance at Macerata - the sound, however, is taken from the EMI studio production. *This* recording is the real deal.
