Isolier, a page (Joyce DiDonato), unwittingly reveals his plans to his master, Count Ory (Juan Diego Flórez), who is in disguise as a pilgrim with magical powers. The problem? They're in love with the same woman, and the tenor is not too pleased that the little mezzo is trying to get his girl.
There are few things in this world that make me as happy as watching Flórez and DiDonato singing Rossini to each other. I love their collaboration in Barbiere, Cenorentola and La Donna del Lago, and getting to see DiDonato in a trouser role is just so precious. I could watch these two forever.
