Kurt Baum - O muto asil del pianto (1950)

Kurt Baum sings Arnold's aria 'O muto asil del pianto' and cabaletta 'Corriam voliam' from Rossini's Guillaume Tell. Better known as 'Asile héréditaire...Amis, amis' in the original French.

Rossini wrote the role (one of the most demanding in the tenor repertoire) originally for a dramatic tenor, but due to it's high lying tessitura it is most often performed by lyric Rossini tenors. The high tessitura is no concern for Kurt Baum, who sings this aria in it's original (extremely difficult) key.
