'Di rigori armato il seno' is from Act I of 'Der Rosenkavalier' by Richard Strauss. Set in the boudoir of the Marschallin, Princess Werdenburg of Vienna, an Italian tenor demonstrates his talent for the Marschallin.
Considered a leading composer of the late Romantic and early modern eras, Strauss (1864 – 1949) has been described as a successor of Richard Wagner and Franz Liszt.
