Ruddigore Act I- Mad Margaret's aria: Cheerily carols the lark

Singer: Jessie Bond

Mad Margaret's dialogue following song here:
Oxford University Gilbert and Sullivan Society's production of Ruddigore, November 2013. Corpus Christi College Auditorium. Lydia Ellis as Mad Margaret.

This aria is submitted for consideration in my auditioning for the part of Jessie Bond in "The Ladies of Gilbert and Sullivan". Apologies for poor sound quality, I had a bad cold at this point in Ruddigore's run.

Reviews below:

"Lydia Ellis's voice is perfect for her role, warbling when she wants it to be but not weak; her eyes roll as she spits plosive bouts of spiteful comments across the stage area and her creeping, vague smile screams 'mad cat lady'."

"Lydia Ellis as Mad Margaret, managing to stay in character even when singing, with a fantastic performance as so unconventional a character".
