Dvořáková was one of the finest dramatic sopranos of her time and an outstanding Wagnerian. She often alternated with Birgit Nilsson at Bayreuth throughout the 1960's. Her best roles were the "Zwischenfach" roles such as Ortrud, Venus and Kundry, but she was also much in demand as Isolde and Brünnhilde. She is partnered by an inadequate Siegfried here (Jiří Zahradníček), though the voice has enough metal in it to hold its own.
